Pre-Treatment
Hydration, Hydration, Hydration! Drinking water will allow the current to react properly in the follicle and damage the dermal papilla. It will usually make the treatment more tolerable as well.
If you can go without, no caffeine or alcohol the day of treatment. Not only will they dehydrate your skin, they may increase anxiety.
Exfoliate the area the day prior to treatment and moisturize the skin to help with probe insertion.
No retinol or glycolic acid at least 24 hours before treatment.
NO MORE TWEEZING OR WAXING in the area being treated. Shaving with a single blade razor is best if you are prone to ingrown hairs.
Let your hair grow in for about 3 days, an 1/8 of an inch or long enough to grab the hair with tweezers.
If you are sensitive, feel free to take tylenol 30 minutes before treatment.
